Why the Z06 was made for Sardinia
Some cars are chosen for the arriving and some for the driving: the Z06 belongs to the second species, and Sardinia is its natural habitat. The climbs of inner Gallura, the hairpins winding up to Tempio through the rocks of the Valle della Luna, the fast sweepers of the east coast: our selection of the island's most beautiful roads to drive in a supercar reads as if it were written for this chassis. You do not need a circuit: you need an early start, when the tarmac is empty and the air still cool.
Then, of course, there is the theatre. Parked in Accelerate Yellow outside a five-star hotel in Porto Cervo, the Z06 draws as many glances as any European exotic, with rarity on its side: track-bred Corvettes are a vanishingly rare sight on the Costa Smeralda. It is the supercar for those who have already driven everything and this time want a different story to tell over dinner.
8,600 rpm: the American V8 that screams like an Italian
Forget the made-in-USA burble: the Z06's 5.5-litre runs a flat-plane crank — like the V8s of Maranello — and speaks an entirely different language, metallic and searing, climbing to 8,600 rpm with a ferocity that raises the hairs on your arms. It is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever fitted to a production car: 646 hp that all live at the top of the dial, rewarding the discipline to hold each gear to the red line before asking for the next.
The 8-speed dual-clutch slots its gears home with sharp, instant strikes, the chassis is firm and talkative, and the steering reads the road surface like a telemetry trace. The 3.1-second 0–100 km/h sprint is merely the opening course: it is in the changes of direction that the Z06 reveals its circuit breeding, with a front end that finds the apex on its own and a stability that keeps inviting more pace. Deeply bolstered seats, a clean view forward, the engine at your back: the experience is total.
A racing engine with number plates: the LT6 at its core
The Z06's defining feature is not an option — it is the project itself. The LT6 V8 grows directly out of Corvette's endurance-racing programme and brings a competition architecture to the road: short stroke, pure natural aspiration, revs from the world of racing engines. Around it, the widened bodywork, enlarged intakes and dedicated aerodynamics make it immediately clear this is no angrier Stingray: it is another machine entirely, built around its heart.
Within the LSM fleet, the Z06 sits at the summit of our Corvette rental selection and ranks among the most radical experiences across more than 150 available versions. Booking works as it does for every car: a message to the WhatsApp concierge with your dates and delivery point — airport, port, villa or yacht — and the itinerary you have in mind. Check availability and let the right road complete the work.
