It is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever fitted to a production car: 646 hp that all live at the top of the dial, rewarding the discipline to hold each gear to the red line before asking for the next.

The 8-speed dual-clutch slots its gears home with sharp, instant strikes, the chassis is firm and talkative, and the steering reads the road surface like a telemetry trace. The 3.1-second 0–100 km/h sprint is merely the opening course: it is in the changes of direction that the Z06 reveals its circuit breeding, with a front end that finds the apex on its own and a stability that keeps inviting more pace. Deeply bolstered seats, a clean view forward, the engine at your back: the experience is total.

The Z06's defining feature is not an option — it is the project itself. The LT6 V8 grows directly out of Corvette's endurance-racing programme and brings a competition architecture to the road: short stroke, pure natural aspiration, revs from the world of racing engines.
